Over time, I recognised that increased robust training was
required in the industry. Many people were starting their jobs and needed the training to avoid quality issues with all products required to meet specifications.
I joined a training company delivering training in the food industry and worked there for several years.
Finding I had a flair for identifying and delivering training, I set up Intrinsic Training Solutions with a business partner. The business flourished, and we worked with many small, medium, and blue-chip organisations. I bought my business partner out in 2005 and managed the company from there.
Once Covid came around and training took a backseat in the industry, we struggled to keep our customers as they had other important issues.
As a result, in September 2022, I closed Intrinsic Training Solutions.
I now work self-employed as a Workforce Training.
My background in the Food Industry helps me enormously. As a result, I can advise clients on the best route to ensure the maximum effect of their required training.
Receiving the correct training for their job role can influence an individual’s career path; this makes a huge difference.

Workforce Training is an approved centre for Highfield, so all our training courses, whether online e-learning, open public training courses, or training directly for employers, are certified by HABC.
- I deliver food safety at all levels for Manufacturing, Catering, and Retail.
- I specialise in delivering Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Limits (HACCP) at all levels in manufacturing and catering.
- Additionally, I train those requiring additional help for Safer Food Better Business (SFBB).
- Apprenticeships are well accepted, and I deliver several, including Quality Practitioner. Levy funding is a consideration when paying for apprenticeships.
I find delivering all these courses fascinating when meeting different people from different areas of the industry.
I enjoy working with people focused on the training objectives, up for a challenge, have a sense of humour, and want to learn and progress in their abilities.
Communication is a cornerstone of my business. Effective communication, ensuring all customers are always informed, is crucial in enabling Workforce Training to flourish.
